For me, the start of the new year brings hope. Hope for new beginnings, hope for peace, hope for love, hope for happiness. Then I thought I just can’t ” hope” for something, I must do. Then, the thought of “just doing” may not be enough. So I thought about a quote from Lao Tzu , the great Chinese philosopher, which carries great wisdom.
“I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.”
In”hoping” and “doing”, if we follow Lao Tzu’s wisdom and try to incorporate these three things: simplicity, patience and compassion in whatever we do, we may find love, peace and happiness. It’s worth a try.
What are you thoughts for 2011?
