Choco Protein Bites

by Jenny on October 18, 2012

Feeling a bit tired or need a protein boost?  These little chocolate protein bites uses tofu as the vegetable protein.  If you eat protein bars, you will have a good idea what this will taste like.  It has that soy flavor, that is commonly used in those energy bars.  Now, if you don’t like tofu, these aren’t for you!  I tested them on my boys over the summer – the one who eats protein bars said they were good, the other who doesn’t said it wasn’t for him.  I guess he was being Japanese polite.  So, don’t expect a dessert, but instead think of these as a chocolate flavored ‘pick me up’ snack without the guilt.   Here we made them as little bite size pieces, but you can also put it in a pan and bake it to make larger pieces.  This recipe was shared by Fumiko who is an avid tennis player!
