Even though I can select a color that I find attractive and appropriate, I do not have the expertise to choose the type of paint to use. Today, paint companies come up with new products so often that it is hard to keep up.
I went down to Sherwin Williams and explained what I needed to paint. The sales girl was very knowledgeable and explained all my options on paint, including finishes, such as flat, eggshell and glossy. Deck flooring requires one type while the railing and posts will work with a different type. It all depends on the function of where you are painting.
By just asking before you paint, takes away the stress of making the correct decision and you decrease your chances of a mistake. Don’t forget, mistakes are costly!
