What wishes do you have the new year? What type of change are you looking for? The new year is always a time when many try to reflect and at the same time imagine the future.
For me, the start of the new year brings hope. Hope for new beginnings, hope for peace, hope for love, hope for happiness. Then I thought I just can’t ” hope” for something, I must do. Then, the thought of “just doing” may not be enough. So I thought about a quote from Lao Tzu , the great Chinese philosopher, which carries great wisdom.
“I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.”
Lao Tzu
In “hoping” and “doing”, if we follow Lao Tzu’s wisdom and try to incorporate these three things: simplicity, patience and compassion in whatever we do, we may find love, peace and happiness. It’s worth a try.
What are you thoughts for 2011?
Simplicity, patience and compassion – they can make a difference in your life, indeed.
Very nice quote, thanks for sharing!
