As we featured a couple matcha recipes, here is one more way that you can use your matcha: Tofu Matcha Smoothie.
Since matcha is fresh steamed and dried green tea leaves it has a very high content of chlorophyll. This makes it super alkaline and helps your body detoxify. Add tofu to the mix and you get protein as well. A high protein alkaline smoothie is super healthy!
After giving this a try, two out of three of us liked it. I didn’t dislike it, but it was a bit heavy on the tofu flavor for me. Maybe if we cut the amount of tofu in half I’d find it easier to enjoy. It still makes a great pick me up for the middle of the afternoon when you’re feeling a bit peckish. Why not give it a try!
