I hope everyone is staying home and is safe. As the news for the coronavirus changes daily, it’s hard just to keep up. I’m trying to keep my news consumption to a minimum and stay occupied by reading and writing. What are you up to?

In the Greater Seattle area, they’re talking about making face masks mandatory when in public. I just spoke to Dr. Hsu who’s back in Taiwan. He said the government just announced the same thing. If you’re caught there without a mask, there’s a $100 fine. I haven’t heard about being fined here in Seattle yet.

The problem is there aren’t any masks for sale in our neck of the woods.

Luckily, my Japanese girlfriend sent me a lovely video of a Japanese lady demonstrating how to make a facemask from a handkerchief. And my other girlfriend sent me another link to a similar mask but it’s not a video.

Here’s the blog with the easy no sewing face mask: http://blog.japanesecreations.com/no-sew-face-mask-with-handkerchief-and-hair-tie

It may be best to use something you can wash in hot water to kill the virus.

Stay safe everyone!
