Course Salad
Cuisine Japanese
Servings 4 people

  • pot for boiling pasta
  • large mixing bowl

  • 2 cans albacore tuna I use the ones in brine
  • 1 500g box pasta any shaped pasta will work but spaghetti is best
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • mayonnaise to bind
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 bunch fresh parsley
  • soy sauce I like the low sodium

  • Boil pasta, add olive oil and set aside and let cool. Once cool, add sliced onion. For the tuna, I drain the liquid before adding it to the pasta. Then season with mayonnaise, soy sauce, and black pepper. So easy, even your children will enjoy making this! If you don't like tuna you can make with tenderloin chicken strips.
  • boil pasta to al dente, drain, add olive oil so it won't stick. Set aside in bowl and cool
  • once cooled add sliced onions
  • open the cans of tuna and drain liquid. Run a knife through the tuna so it's broken into bite sized pieces and add to pasta bowl
  • add enough mayonnaise to cover pasta and tuna.
  • season with soy sauce, black pepper
  • add chopped parsley for a nice kick
